About
Jonathan Aguilar is a bilingual photojournalist and multimedia storyteller based in Milwaukee. Before joining Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, he worked as a staff photojournalist at The Blade in Toledo, Ohio. A graduate of DePaul University and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Aguilar focuses on stories that uplift marginalized communities. Inspired by visits to Mexico, he began documenting life through photography and continues to use journalism as a tool for visibility and representation. While at DePaul, he co-founded the school’s first Spanish-language newsroom, driven by a passion for language equity and the power of inclusive media.
