About
Amir Aziz is a visual journalist born, raised and based in Oakland, California, Amir uses photography as his primary storytelling medium, documenting the life and times of Oakland’s diminishing Black community and the resistance to rapid, inequitable changes in his hometown for over 10 years. His subject matter also includes grassroots movements and demonstrations across the U.S. and internationally. Aziz hopes to continue to bridge the gap between Western and non-Western communities using multimedia storytelling with an emphasis on the African diaspora.
