About
Brett Phelps is a visual journalist from Bardstown, Kentucky, and a 2025 graduate of Western Kentucky University with degrees in visual journalism and marketing. He has interned with The Boston Globe, The IndyStar, The Chautauquan Daily, and Nelson County Schools. At WKU, he served as print and web visuals editor for the Talisman magazine. Phelps’ work explores people’s relationships with place and identity, often blending documentary and editorial styles. Outside of journalism, he enjoys traveling, hiking, concerts and playing piano. His storytelling is rooted in curiosity, empathy and a desire to connect audiences to everyday moments.
