Max Herman: Assignment Editor Fellow
Max Herman is a documentary photographer and visual journalist based in Chicago. His daily news experience has brought him to cover stories surrounding police accountability, education reform, housing rights, and daily life in the city he has long called home. In recent years, Max has taken a more long-term approach to stories when possible, building lasting connections with the communities he covers. He spent over two years photographing migration conditions and the humanitarian aid response along the Arizona-Sonora, Mexico border and continues to document the long distance train travel experience in the U.S.
